What's New

Recopy keeps getting better.

Every update ships to Mac, iPhone, and iPad through the App Store. Here's what changed recently.

Version 1.2

July 2026

Search everything, sync images, transform like a developer.

Full-history search

Search now covers your entire clipboard history — not just recent items — and matches custom names, source apps, code language, and file paths. It works in both the quick popover and the main window.

Image sync

Images now sync across your devices along with everything else. Screenshot on your Mac, paste it on your iPad. Controlled by the "Sync files and images" toggle and your size limit.

Developer transforms

Format or minify JSON, encode and decode Base64 or URLs, escape text for the shell, or wrap it in a Markdown code block — straight from any item's menu, including the popover.

Syntax highlighting

Copied code now renders with highlighted keywords, strings, numbers, and comments in the detail view, across 11 languages.

MCP server for AI tools

The new recopy-mcp server exposes your clipboard history to AI assistants like Claude through the Model Context Protocol. It's read-only, and sensitive items are never returned.

Stronger privacy controls

New options in Settings → Privacy: never save sensitive items, auto-delete them after 1–60 minutes (synced devices included), and turn off link-preview fetching entirely. Detection also now catches JWTs, private keys, and current OpenAI, Anthropic, GitLab, and npm token formats.

Drag & drop out

Drag items from your history straight into other apps — files arrive as files, screenshots as images, text as text.

Keyboard-first refinements

The popover opens with search focused, Return pastes into the app you came from, and Escape clears search before closing. Plus dozens of fixes for faster, more reliable pasting.
